Agreed. Taylor Schilling is too good of a discovery to go away.
And while I never paid much mind to Michelle Trachtenberg on Buffy, she's been a major revelation on this show. And pretty damn hilarious.

This show better come back.
With the Michelle Trachtenberg scenes tonight I couldn't help but think back to the Izzy and whats-his-name-guy-who-died plot on Grey's Anatomy and how Mercy handled the similar situation five hundred times better.

Can't believe they left it with cliffhangers likw that since the show has been a huge question mark about getting a renewal all season.
Another solid episode, though the Briggs' story made no sense.

That really sucks. I liked this show and looked forward to it each week.
At the rate shows are getting canceled I'll have a lot of free time next year.

Flanagan down!
Fuck.
I think this show's main drawback that it was fighting against the whole time was that it followed ER, Grey's Anatomy and countless other doctor shows- so when people saw ads or previews of the show they thought "Oh, I remember when ER did an episode in a collapsed building" or "Oh, this is just like Meredith and McDreamy". So the casual viewer had no reason to tune in.
Meanwhile the people who actually watched the show realized that while it ventured into "very-special-episode" of ER territory and "soap-opera-work-romance" of Grey's territory, this show handled things a bit differently and often more intelligently. At least the characters all acted like adults and not like everyone's emotions were stunted at age 12 (I'm looking at you Grey's Anatomy!).
Also, the backstory of Veronica's Army tour, coupled with Taylor Schilling's performance made for a very interesting and complex central character that you cared about. The support cast of her family- particularly Peter Gerety and Kate Mulgrew really added to the show as well.

^^ I think your right. The average viewer probably saw one of the promos and thought.."Oh No, Not another medical show" and didn't give it a chance. Plus, it didn't help that it aired in the same week as another medical themed show "Trauma."

I'm not surprised. I did initially not care about it because it did just seem like another one of those "medical" shows. But I gave it a chance, and didnt hate it. Maybe if it wasnt pre-empted and put against the wednesday night abc comedies, then this show might have had a chance.

Yup, I think that's probably reason #1.
Taylor Schilling= 1st major role. Noone ever heard of her before this and she is the lead of this show.
James Tupper= Only known as the dude who banged Anne Heche when they starred in Men in Trees, when she was married.
Michelle Trachtenberg= She was probably the biggest star being on Buffy, Gossip Girl and a bunch of teen oriented movies, which obviously didn't appeal to the audience who this show targeted.

I still hold out hope that somehow TNT will save this show. Or maybe schizo SyFylis.
