The Simpsons -- "To Surveil With Love" -- 05/02/2010

"To Surveil with Love"
Spoiler:
A bomb squad mistakenly blows up Homer's unattended gym bag, releasing radiation into the city and authorities react by suspending civil liberties. Wiggum and his men install surveillance cameras around Springfield and round up suspected terrorists, including groundskeeper Willie, but when monitoring the nonstop flow of video imagery proves to be too much, Wiggum enlists concerned citizens to help keep the city safe. Meanwhile, Lisa becomes fed up with being blonde, so she dyes her hair a dark color.

I liked it, the ending was a nice reference to the old Valentine's day episode from years back.

It is "Fox Rocks" week which started last Thursday with Bones. That was the Simpson's way of sticking with the theme.

Pretty good episode. The part with Bart shuffling around with his pants down had me laughing.

Even if I don't care about Ke$ha at all, I thought the opening was really cool.

"Fox Rocks" and Ke$sha. That's the bad thing about having a DVR and being old.

Good episode this week. Wally's 'framer' of the Constitution line had me laughing.

What a great opening... my GF turned to me and said "Wow, Simpsons are with the times"

I agree... it is nice to see some "new" material... and the opening was great!

It was a fun opening, but if liking Kesha is what it takes to be "with the times" these days then I'll happily be "out of it".

It is a current hit song in the top 10.. so it is relevant, and a fun song to have most of the Simpson's universe participate in.

Sure beats when they would parody the new Star Wars movies 2 years later.

Anyone else going to think of Simpsons whenever they here the Ke$ha song now? I heard it driving during lunch & during the one part, pictured Marge pulling Homer home from Moe's.

That didn't last long.
I only saw the end of the opening because Simpsons airs about 1 minute earlier then listed.

The episode is on Hulu with the opening intact, so you can watch it there. It's clever, and you probably couldn't do something like that with many songs, regardless of their quality.

I have no idea who Keisha is but the episode was pretty funny with Flanders annoying everybody with his expanded powers due to the surveillience system.
