Letters From God Trashed by Godless Reviewers
Will Christian film making ever get a fair shake in Hollywood? Apparently not. Almost every major film critic has taken turns bashing the uplifting flick, Letters from God. And you wouldn't even know the film exists if you use imdb.com.
So what's the main beef critics have with this tear jerker? The movie dares to talk openly about faith and Christianity. Heaven forbid! A Christian movie that talks about Christian faith. Nothing is said about other merits such as acting and direction.
Face it, any Christian movie gets this type of crap treatment every year. They tried their best to trash Mel Gibon's Passion movie, and it ended up being a massive success. Hollywood in their biased stupidity missed out on lots of revenue as a result. I hope this little movie rakes in the money and makes the reviewers look like idiots.

So it is a good movie or not? Interestingly, you don't talk much about acting & direction either. Just imply that it should be given a pass because it's a Christian film.

Well now I never have to watch it, since that trailer tells the ENTIRE story, complete with full character arcs and resolutions.

Fat fucking chance. It hasn't even made its production bugdet back yet, let alone marketing and distribution.

Seriously though, this movie will probably make money soon based on the "word of mouth" like from the OP. Has this hit the AM radio circuit yet?

Guys, c'mon... don't you get it? This movie DARES to talk openly about faith. Don't you know how revolutionary that is? It's obvious that people are scared of the truth, so critics have been put in place by Satan to warn you away from a film that preaches the TRUE word.

Re: Letters From God Trashed by Godless Reviewers
I didn't think that critics hated Passion that much. In fact I remember Roger Ebert giving it four stars and defending it. I think a lot of the critics hate these films because there made as low budget films. I saw Left Behind just to see what the hype was about and it was laughable because it was made like a low budget tv movie. And I hate to say this, but I don't see Hollywood making any big budget Christian films like this even though there is money that could be made. If a company got a budget of $30 to $40 million, and some name stars, it would make money just like those damm Tyler Perry movies make money.

Besides being a few wks late, this should've gone in the already existing Letters to God thread...
Edit: Actually I'm assuming this topic was a joke from the start. Haha

I decided to see what the critics actually were saying about this. Here are some actual quotes courtesy of Rotten Tomatoes:
"Letters To God keeps letting the story be interrupted by the sponsor, which in this case is Christianity." - Janos Gereben
"The true story is inspiring but the film gets much too preachy." - Jackie K. Cooper
"The plot feels formulaic and doesn’t have any real surprises." - Avi Offer
"Parental Content Review" - Jim Judy
The first three quotes come from positive reviews of the film.
