May want to specify Swedish to prevent confusion down the line.

I want to read the book and then rent this when it comes out. I was under the impression that the book was chick-lit (no offense, of course) and was blown away when I heard what it was really about. I'm glad the foreign trilogy should be out before the new American version.

Super psyched for this, cannot wait. Loved the book & the sequels & have heard nothing but good things as to a film actually being true to the source material.

I've heard nothing but good things about this one. I'm definitely in for a netflix rental and if it's as good as they say I'll undoubtedly be adding this to my collection later.

heard the 2nd film isn't that hot. Different director and it shows or something...it was on the main thread on the movie page. I'm too lazy to link.

I started a second thread on the sequel just yesterday. Yeah, it isn't great like this one. But the story is so good, you still have to watch.

You absolutely HAVE to get the first on BD. I will reimburse you if you don't love it. I've sent 6 people to see it in the theater (including my parents) and they all loved it. I kid you not.

Not such a big deal, or even rare. Movie posters change from country to country. And he's only in a small percentage of all of the worldwide posters:

I'm not a big reader actually, being a film major pretty much leaves little to know time to read...but I do watch many movies, but I do keep an eye on books that may interest me...I too am surprised I've never heard of this till now.

I heard of it (officially) when I read the ultra negative review that Slant Magazine gave it, which wasn't that long ago -- despite the fact I posted in a thread about it in the Movie forum months ago (it was named the original trilogy name in the topic.) That was a good review though, as all the negative points were positives in my eyes (sensationalism + thriller). Ebert also gave it 4-stars (outta 4).

i wanted to watch it at the HIFF, but missed the screening due to work. Any info on the UK release (region coding specifically) - i kinda prefer that cover myself, even with the eventual UK movie rating symbol(s). The US cover looks like she's crashing at Hogwart's....
