Re: Criterion Film Club (April 15) - Flesh For Frankenstein
This is hands down one of the funniest movies in the entire Criterion library. I didn't think it could be worse than Blood For Dracula but oh yes, yes it can. If it wasn't for the awesomeness of Udo Kier it would be even more unwatchable.

Totally agree. I think I originally watched them in that order too, Blood for Dracula first, and could hardly believe that this one was even more insane. Bad, but in a great way! Looking forward to watching it again in the next week or so.

I love this one. It's so bad/good. Luckily, I saw it at the theater upon an early 1980s re-release in 3-D.

Re: Criterion Film Club (April 15) - Flesh For Frankenstein
Watched this on Saturday. BBC apparently showed this in 3-D using the Blue/Amber anaglyph technique. I had some glasses from last year's Superbowl commercial for Monsters vs Aliens and I managed to acquire a copy of the film. I don't know why no one uses this form of 3D. It blows Red/Blue or Green out of the water. Almost no ghosting and close to natural colors. Anyway, I love this flick. It's like a demented Hammer movie but it is so deadpan. If you weren't in on the joke, sometimes you wouldn't even realize it was supposed to be funny. I love that technique in comedy. It just makes it possible to bring in more and more ridiculous elements. I love the central pitch.
