I heard this rumor too. Something about how they incorporated plastic sleeves. I guess the original problem had something to do with the discs rubbing against cardboard and dried adhesive. I'm hoping that since the set is on back order that I might be getting one of the newer packages. If not I guess I'll have to return/exchange it. The price is too good to pass up.

yeah, the original box was BAD. so bad that i went through three different sets at best buy and all of them had sticker residue shit on at least some of the discs, some worse then others. I got a full refund and just went to target and bought all of the seasons there for 20 bucks a piece

That is a hell of a deal, I'd love to have the box set but I've already replaced my original season sets to the slim sets. I can't justify triple dipping.

Very bad. I received mine from DD today in the original packaging and the first 3 discs I looked at were all damaged. But I called Sony and they could not have been more polite and helpful. The guy explained the exchange program and emailed me the RMA with Fedex info within minutes. It's already on the way to Sony. For that price it was worth the little bit of trouble.

Unbelievable that I missed this deal. I rented season 3 from my library and want the whole thing now. I checked the week before and figured it'd be a while before the complete series was on sale. $63 is a steal.
