Castle -- "The Late Shaft" -- 04/12/10

Nathan Fillion

Synopsis:

Spoiler:
A talk-show host dies hours after warning Castle of his impending fate, and Castle must convince Beckett that the death wasn't from natural causes. Meanwhile, Castle is charmed by a sexy actress (Kelly Carlson).

Tom Bergeron, the host of America's Funniest Videos and the show that precedes this (Dancing with the Stars), is the special guest star.

Another good episode. tons of guest stars this week. I do wonder though if the premiere of Alyssa Milano's new show will affect the ratings much.

And after seeing this, you can understand why. What a beast of a car.

I forgot to record Jimmy Kimmel last night. How was Fillion on there?

Castle has gone up against a new CSI:Miami two times in the last month and has pulled in better ratings both times.

Wow. Kelly Carlson (Kimber from Nip/Tuck) looked really different as a brunette. Interesting episode which really was sort of chock full of guest stars.

Never would have realized that network president was the 90's MTV Sports Guy, Dan Cortese, if I hadn't seen it on IMDB.

I wouldn't have recognized him if his name weren't listed in the opening credits. He looks like he's had cosmetic surgery.

I really liked the way they wrote jokes in about Tiger Woods, Jay Leno, Conan O'Brian and David Letterman all in one show, and weren't heavy-handed about it. That was brilliant writing.

Beth Broderick looked like she had a ton of work done.

Don't forget he was the jock boyfriend of Elaine's on Seinfeld that George had the mancrush on.

Holy shit that was Tony??? Awesome!

Great episode and damn French Stewert looked OLD! He needs some plastic surgery.

I liked how Castle was giving calling card options for he and Kate, and they were all ones they use for the actual show.

I recorded the Kimmel interview and yea... Nate was hilarious, dude gives a good interview; wish he would have been on longer

This episode had way to many cheesy clichés in it. Definitely not the best written episode.

As soon as they read Bergeron's new attempts for his catchphrase, there was absolutely zero doubt who the murderer was.

Glad to see this show is doing well. Hopefully it can stick around for a while (but not so long it gets sour).

It was great how they mentioned in the episode that the paperback version of "Heat Wave" comes out in July - I just checked and the paperback version of the real life version of "Heat Wave" does indeed come out on July 27th!

It's a very good read, very much in the same vein as the show is. You could easily see it being written by the Castle character.

I agree - the cast really sparkles. I laugh as much at the back and forth among the characters as any sitcom on tv.
