Great to see it return!
This is the only show I watch on The CW, so I don't know how much they've been advertising it lately. Have they been running a lot of spots?

Not a great episode with the whole ghost thing but the character moments made up for it.
Enjoyed the Tess/Zod face off scene and enjoyed the Oliver/Chloe scene towards the end.

The Silver Banshe is one of the comic villians. She showed up in Justice League a few times. However, she isn't a ghost there (or if she is, it isn't mentioned)

Loved how they decided to solve the problem of Clark having sex by saying "Oh, BTW, Jor-El taught me how not to destroy a human during sex by controlling my powers."

"I seem to recall you having some kind of concern about the beds, and non powered people and what would happen in the beds with the non powered people"
her facial expressions during that were great

I laughed at that as well. I wonder if it was an ad lib.
I'm glad they threw the part in at the end with Lois and Zod. Should force a scenario where Lois has to fundamentally trust Clark versus what the "Blur" is asking of her. Should be interesting.
I know it's Smallville, but I was miffed at the large plot hole at the end. Once the painting was burned she just went poof, yet there was no Lois. Wouldn't have made sense for Lois to still be there and fall to the ground?!
Despite enjoying the character interactions it was a pretty weak episode. I guess a nice slow one to easy into the final stretch. Are we uninterrupted from here until the end?

True, but this episode did at least have a few great things to offer.
Clark & Oliver at the breakfast table.
Lois in the blue nightie.
Clark explaining how Jor-El's training has tempered his super-stamina.
Tess and Zod in the farmhouse (Although, of all places?)
Also, I noticed at least 2 visual references to Jonathan Kent. I'm curious to see if that was foreshadowing for something, or just convenient.

I enjoyed everything but the ghost story. They could have just done Smallville, "the situational comedy" at the inn for an hour and I would have been fine with it. All the characters had some great 'character' moments.

I agree. The paltry amount of time they spent on the ghost story - maybe 7 minutes? - would have been better served by spending time on the characters.

Why does Clark have to learn to control the blast quotient of his super ejaculate, but Zod with his newly acquired powers has no worries? Does Tess have a lead reinforced vaginal wall?

Well since Zod already knows hot to fly, I'll assume he has full control of all his faculties. I guess Clark just has different priorities.

Meanwhile, Zod has no problem in that dept - he gets right down to business.
