Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game
The first preview of the visuals is up at http://attractmo.de/blog/exclusive-s...ixel-art-by-p/ . Their blog seems kinda flaky right now, so I'm posting some of their screengrabs here. Anamanaguchi is doing the soundtrack, and Paul Robertson (Pirate Baby) is doing the sprite work. This side-scrolling beat-'em-up being released by Ubisoft presumably sometime around July or August.

Awesome. I can't wait to play it. Scott Pilgrim is one of the few instances where a video game based upon another medium actually seems like a good idea. Should be pretty fun.

So that's what Scott Pilgrim is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Pilgrim I keep seeing it mentioned in this forum but always forgot to google it.

Preorder Deal courtesy of UbiShop
Preorder game for $9.99 and get free Home avatar shirt. Also you save $5. Code is given instantly, so save it somewhere safe until 8/10/10.
edit: Use code 10THANKS to save $1
edit 2: Looks like they're charging $14.99 now. Deal dead. This marks the first time I benefit from a very brief price glitch -- I almost always miss out on those.
edit 3 : It's ALIVE!

Ordered for $8.99 as well. I played a level from it yesterday and it's a blast! Why must I wait till August 10th, though? Damn it.

Re: Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game
When the schedule was on Thursdays, stuff didn't seem to go up until late afternoon west coast/early evening east coast. I'm not sure if that's changed since the move to Tuesdays.

I had to hear it from Edgar Wright, the director of the upcoming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World film, who posted it on his blog along with a video of the undead pixels in action. Keeping with the delightfully old-school feel of the game, you'll need to input a code on the game's title screen to unlock the zombie smashing action -- down, up, right, down, up, right, down, up, right, right, right. I tried it on my preview build -- doesn't seem to work, and that made me cry.
But it did bring my attention to another menu option: "Extra Game Modes." Along with a "Boss Rush" mode is "Survival Horror," where you fight -- you guessed it -- a seemingly endless stream of shambling ghouls. How long can you last? How many can you take down? As it turns out, not so many for me -- it seems the zombies were a bit more powerful than I had anticipated, taking me out with a few hits.
I'll have a more detailed preview of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World later this week, and here's a spoiler alert for you -- it's totally and completely awesome.

Re: Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game
this is PSN exclusive game right? i did see on a review site with a release date for X360 for 8/25, but thought that was perhaps wishful thinking.

Re: Scott Pilgrim: The Video Game
By the time it gets put up on the PSN though it will probably be available for the 360 on the same day. I took the day off to play this damn thing and now they're dicking me around by not putting it up in a timely fashion.
