Is there a difference in the audio for a laserdisc player if you use the ac-3 output versus the RCA audio outputs? Will either one give me dolby digital surround with my Sony 845 dd/dts decoder receiver?

Thanks,

Ian B.

RCA outputs are analog, and therefore cannot pass a digital signal like the digital outputs of your player. Since I don't know what model you have I can't be specific, but most LD players will not pass a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal to your receiver without going through an RF modulator. They will however pass a dts digital signal straight to your receiver.
