Also, multi-disc sets look like they're 35% off as well.

It's good through 3/31. The multi-disk sets are mostly 70s and 80s TV miniseries that retail for 19.95 or 24.95 normally.

The code WELCOME09 can be stacked for an additional $5 off.
While I am not thrilled with the burn on demand system and the idea of classic films being relegated to low quality DVD-R product, these are likely the closest thing to legitimate releases that made-for-tv films like Bad Ronald, Special Bulletin and Dying Room Only can hope for.

XB592 works for 20% off, but only on the multi-disc sets. That brings them to 48% off, before the two $5 off coupons (which have minimums.) Not a bad deal at all.

Any recommendations? I only know of two that I want, "Get to Know Your Rabbit" and "Rain People" - but I haven't been following the WB Archive releases at all, so I don't even know most of what's there.
Also, I'm ashamed to admit that after all these years on DVD Talk, I still don't know technically how to stack coupons. Anyone care to explain? Thanks!!

Carny is an interesting one that should have got a regular release. Under the rainbow would be good but it supposedly has a terrible transfer.

Any free shipping codes without having to spend $60? I would really like to get a copy of the Dogville Shorts for myself and another for a friend as a gift. Got them down to ~$21 using codes above, but then the $5 shipping gets added on.

The odds are that these movies will never get a legitimate, pressed DVD or Blu-ray release, so if you want to see them, this is your only chance, and at these prices, they're a decent buy.

I can't get any of the coupons to work, except for CABINWB once I have $50 in my cart. I want to get Our Gang, but the coupons don't seem to work with it.

You can order regular DVDs and Blu-Rays through this too and use the coupons for those- I'm breaking down and getting the DVD-R of I Know My First Name Is Steven and some other stuff to get the price down as far as possible.
Dammit- it's charging me 10 bucks for shipping- guess I won't get the other stuff after all.

I couldn't 5 I wanted, but picked up Looks Could Kill. Neither "WELCOME09" nor "CABINWB" worked , but "XB592" did give me 20% off the order, so it applies to non-box sets as well.

I'm really only interested in three titles. So if anyone has two they want you can just PayPal me the $10.00 for each and I can ship them to you express mail the day they arrive. PM me if interested. I don't think I'll be buying anything otherwise.

Re: Warner Archive Sale -- 5 for $55 + Free Shipping
I bought some Warner Archive titles at Christmas when they had their 10 for $100 sale. The quality was comparable to what I'd get with second tier catalogue titles of that era, and I didn't have any problems playing the discs.
The odds are that these movies will never get a legitimate, pressed DVD or Blu-ray release, so if you want to see them, this is your only chance, and at these prices, they're a decent buy.

However, I would take issue (a little bit) with your second statement. I know you were talking about having a legitimate, non-bootlegged release, but you probably will be able to SEE them if you have access to Turner Classics, AMC, or other cable venues that specialize in older movies. I don't think Warners has put any of them on cable moriatorium, as I think I've seen several scheduled on TMC during recent months.
For now, I'll probably take my chances on them showing up on cable & then record them on my own DVD-R for about 20 cents vs. $9.
Of course, if someone really wants a movie badly & can't wait, this deal is the best way to go for now.

I mean no offense, but these transfers are all far superior to any DVD-R you could make from TCM. Anything in widescreen is 16:9 enhanced, and a lot of them -- not all, but I'd say most -- easily justify the expense.
For me, it's a no brainer. There are a few titles to avoid, but the great majority of the Archive discs look more than fine -- and it's like night and day versus making a non-anamorphic capture off cable of these films. Not even a comparison to be made, frankly.

And the quality of your DVD-R's are worth about 20 cents compared to paying $9 for a far, far better transfer.

Yes, a nice transfer on their DVD-R is better looking than what I can get onto my DVD-R off cable.
But it's nowhere near $8.80 per movie better.
If I'm going to pay more than $5 for a film, I expect a quality transfer on a pressed disc and special features.
Yes, for now this is the only way to get many of these movies. But for me, there are still thousands of quality pressed feature-laden discs that I can find for ~$5, even in blu-ray; and until I buy all of those that I want, I'll just live with my 20 cent copies of these archive titles.
I respect your right to think they are worth it to you, but disagree strongly with your last statement above.
