Spy Kids 4 - Coming Aug 19th 2011
Spy Kids 4 is scheduled for Aug. 19, 2011.

Took my kids to see the movies and own them on DVD.
The 1st one was awesome, really pro family message to the movie. The next 2 were fun, but not as good.
Each movie made a ton of money worldwide ticket sales, DVD sales and TV viewing. So, I was surprised it is taking 10 years to make another.
New kids have to be apart of the show. It should show the parents and the old kids as trained spys, but they will have to train the new kids to save the world. I love the the old kids as actors, so I hope they will return.

Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams - 8/7/2002
Spy Kids 3D: Game Over - 7/25/2003
Each cost about $35 million and made about $103 each in USA.

Haven't seen the third yet, but I thought the first two were very entertaining. They managed to avoid a lot of the pitfalls of stories that put kids in action roles typically reserved for adults. What the hell; I'm in.

Also considering Daryl Sabara's last movie role, in World's Greatest Dad, I don't think I'd be able to see him in anything overly kid friendly again

Well he did appear in several episodes of Wizards of Waverly Place prior to that movie. So he could cameo in this movie.
I can see him and Alexa Vega's characters as parents (married to Emily Osmet and whoever portrayed her brother respectively) training their kids as new recruits. Get Banderas and Gugino as the heads of the agency with a cameo from a retired George Clooney and your set.

I think child services is going to need to talk to the mother for taking a baby on a mission.
I absolutly hated the first. That was the movie that make me start avoiding movies meant for kids/teens. Never saw 2 & 3 & will not be seeing this one either.

I saw the trailer a while back. It looks aweful. The kids have no charisma whatsoever. I enjoyed the first two and parts of the third but this looks Sharkboy & Lavagirl bad.

I thought Spy Kids was great, even went back and saw the special edition when it was released. Saw SK2 opening day and loved it. Then SK3 rolls around and pretty much sucked. SK4 doesn't look much better.

^My feelings exactly - somewhere between 2 and 3, Robert Rodriguez lost the ability to make kids movies that appealed to adults as well - everything since has just been little kiddie shit and part 4 has a real 'Shorts' vibe to it. Fuck that.

Sharkboy and Lavagirl made it's budget but...yeah, I dunno
Sharkboy and Lavagirl w/ a budget of $50 million
Domestic: $39,177,684 56.4%
+ Foreign: $30,248,282 43.6%
= Worldwide: $69,425,966
Shorts (totally forgot this one existing) w/ a budget of $20 million
Domestic: $20,919,166 72.2%
+ Foreign: $8,053,342 27.8%
= Worldwide: $28,972,508
I dunno if RR should make kids' films anymore.
