Yeah, wish they didn't advertise the big "surprise" so much. Always kinda lame, IMO.

Went with a safe pick...
Spoiler:
and a pick that I really hope I'm wrong about.

What an awesome blindside against Tyson! It his own fault too for switching his vote. Rob look flabbergasted and rightly so. The funny part is they won't know why it happened since Tyson can't explain.

Russel.

I loved the look he gave to Jeff as they left tribal council.

"It's like Superman is wearing a fat suit"

This split vote thing sure seems to work out well... how to turn a supermajority into a loss... Idiots...

Tyson you stupid sack of shit. Annoyed Rob's alliance took a big hit, but at least it was a douche like Tyson that left.

And NOW they decide to get rid of James, but not last time?

And all because of Russell's influence. That's how to play the game.

The funny part is they won't know why it happened since Tyson can't explain.
Russell can use that to his advantage. He can plant the seed that one of the others meant to vote Russell switched their vote. All he needs to do is get one person on his side (Coach, Courtney) and he's golden. He's had much worse odds before and pulled it off.

If they didn't split votes they were going to vote for Parvati, so it didn't really matter.

....

I knew Tyson was gone as soon as they mentioned his name (and showed him) more than once tonight. He's hardly been shown all season. I just couldn't see how they would turn the vote around until later in episode.

Coach maybe. No chance with Courtney.

And all I see is Russell playing the same game he played last time. Which was "how not to play the game".

Yeah, Russel sure doesn't know how to play the game.

Anyway, I wonder if Russel could somehow find his fifth hidden immunity idol. I don't think he will win the season, but he sure is fun to watch.

Given that his vote was pure pettiness, it's hard to feel bad.

If Russell voted Parvati, and the alliance voted 3-3, she was gone. Tyson's rogue wasn't needed, it just would have been "piling on."

If Russell was lying, well then, Tyson left them one vote short (for Russell) in Rob's foolproof plan. Once again, you can't foolproof anything, fools are too clever. Bye Tyson.

Well they knew the vote was 3-3-3, so target the 3rd person (not the guy who has the idol, and not the person most likely to be given the idol if their plans are sniffed out).... Again this split vote stuff relies on not a single person either turning or doing something stupid and after watching these jokers (and on a tribe of "villains") how can you devise a strategy that relies on that? This early in the game an alliance of 6 is powerful, but the larger the #, the greater the chance of someone backstabbing or being an idiot. A 6-3 vote becomes 5-4 with one switch, 3-3-3 becomes... oh shit how did that happen?

I would love to see Russell punish these guys... he clearly was making a play for Coach to join him at council - that would get his #'s even and needing to turn someone like Courtney. All he's got to do with Coach is play up the dragon slayer angle (and remind him of his 'selfless act of courage' giving the idol to Parv) and let coach think he can become an alltime Survivor Legend by killing the dragon yet again... just play to the guy's ego. At worst it's a tie vote.

Of course that's assuming the villains lose a future immunity challenge, with fat suit Superman, and the old cripple, JT's going to have to carry the load.

EDIT - Now all Russell needs to do is make a fake immunity idol and wear it around his neck right before the next vote as if he found another one....

I think that only works before they see what the HII looks like.

I am curious to see if they'll put it directly back into play like last season. Although, I think Jeff said something about it being up for grabs at tribal council (right after being used) last season.

That was the stuff legends are made of. Russell truly is one of the greatest and showed that once again by playing Tyson for the fool he proved to be. I love the reaction after the votes were read:
Danielle (laughing): "What just happened?!"
