I was thinking about hooking my playstation up to my RPTV and I was wondering what anyone's thoughts were about trying this. Some of my friends have been telling me no way because of screen burn-in issues.
How long would it take to damage my screen?
Is anyone doing this? If so, are there any ground rules I can use to prevent burn in, maybe change the channel every 1/2 hour?
Any thoughts?
Bill

That information is correct as stated in the above post.....as with any type of monitor whether it is a RPTV, Computer or Direct view TV....do not leave a paused image with the device on....if you have to pause a game to do something...turn off your set!!!! I have used my RPTV for gaming and have had no problems whatsoever...just be careful with still images!!!

Thanks for that link.
That info is exactly what I was looking for.
I've got the psx hooked up to an old 25" TV, but now I will feel comfortable plugging it into the 50" set when friends come over, so I can wax them in Tekken 2 & 3 larger than life.

My Dishplayer satellite receiver came with a built in Webtv. I have used it on my RPTV for the last year with no trouble whatsoever and it has still images, similar to some videogames. Just be sure to turn your brightness and contrast way down from the factory settings and you should be okay. This is just from my own experience, rather than repeating what I have heard.
