Wal-mart Breaks Release Date on Lonesome Dove dvds!

Over the weekend, I was surprised to find the re-release of Streets of Laredo and Dead Man's Walk on sale at Wal-mart for only $9 bucks each! These series have been out of print for awhile, and sold on the used market for $30-40 even. Wal-mart has also been selling the Return to Lonesome Dove re-release for a month now.

The surprising thing is these dvds are not schedule to release until May! BN.com and Amazon both list May release days.

As you can expect, people are trying sell these on Ebay for profit claiming they are rare. I really love the slipcase. It matches the design of the Lonesome Dove dvd case.

How do you know they are actually "breaking the release date" and not that Walmart maybe just has an exclusive sales period for these titles there before they go to general retail? It's quite possible that is the case, it has happened before....

That's probably the case. It's just like Target has the mill creek versions of the Greatest American Hero and they don't come out till May 18th everywhere else.
