Hi all,

Just like to ask anyone if the Pioneer 434 and the Toshiba 5109's progressive outputs work with the new Sony WEGA XBR tv?

Thanks.

If you mean the new WEGA XBR 400, yes the Pioneer 434 and Toshiba 5109 progressive component video jacks will work with this HD-Ready set.

If you have not already decided on a unit you might want to check AudioReview.com or AVSForum.com, the Pioneer has been getting ripped in reviews and many insist that it is not a true progressive player in line with the features and performance of the venerable 5109 or Panasonic H1000.

Dave's right, stay away from the Pioneer 434. The Toshiba 6200 is the newest offering that will output true progressive DVD output.

Check out this thread (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/uub/Forum14/HTML/024309.html) on the Pioneer 434 DVD player.

I pre-ordered the 36XBR400.
$2500 (+ $250 for the Sony stand).

I was thinking about getting a progressive scan player too. But I think I'll wait until the price goes down a little more...
