I just bought a sony s550d dvd player and i want to hook it up to my sony wega, i have it hooked up with s-video cable, and 2audio and 1 vidio, ive read if i hook it up with the 3 component cables
ill get a better picture, is that true and how do i hook them up, do i leave all the other connections hooked up also , and just add the 3 component cables??

The component video takes the place of the s-video. You would still need to keep the audio hooked up.

You may get slightly better colors but don't expect too much. This is a topic of much contention among certain audiophiles. It makes a bigger difference on bigger sets (50,60+) On the 36" it's probably negligable. I don't have first hand experience since I have an old panasonic hooked up to my 36FS10 and the panasonic only has s-video, no component. If you want to get them... research a company called "Canare" they can custom make you a set which are supposed to be very good. Much better than mass produced Monster Cable and assorted junk.
