Despite the fact the show has sucked for a while now, this show brought fucked up to a whole new level.

I'll definitely miss it and will be watching.

Sad to see it go, and another edgy FX original coming to an end. I guess that leaves Rescue Me.

"Justified" shows some promise. (never got into Damages, personally)

Agreed. And Damages is worth getting caught up on.

This show has jumped the shark in many ways, but it will be sad to see it (finally) end. Now just how exactly are they going to DO it?!

oh yeah, forgot SoA... love that show! Always Sunny is a comedy, so I don't really put it in the same category (but it IS awesome, and so was "The League")

I have truly loved this show since the beginning and it will be missed, but I think this is the right time. Can't wait to watch tonight.

Re: Nip/Tuck "Hiro Yoshimura" SERIES FINALE 3/3/10 65 MIN

I might have to force myself to tune in if I remember!

I thought I missed it because I thought today was Thursday already. Oh well...

Not really all that excited, but I've watched the show here and there over the years -- and I have nothing against the actors. I'd rank the show somewhere in the middle overall. I've seen better, but I've also seen much worse.

I remember such atrocities years ago as Life with Lucy (the bomb show that sent Lucille Ball into mass depression), The Golden Palace, and others.

Dude this show redefined the term 'jumping the shark' with nearly every season - but I think that was why I loved it, it just got more and more ridiculous with age. It's been one hell of a fun rollercoaster ride with these characters but I feel like the time has come to say goodbye. Can't believe I started watching this when I was in High School and I've been out of college for over a year!

Re: Nip/Tuck "Hiro Yoshimura" SERIES FINALE 3/3/10 65 MIN

I was talking about the FX original 3 of The Shield, Nip/Tuck, and Rescue Me.

(Dont worry, I watch Sons, Damages, etc)

I thought it was a great ending. Matt got what he deserved, after all his fuck ups, having to bargain to be with someone. Christian still has Liz to lean on, and doesnt need to change, and Sean can finally move on and be happy.

Re: Nip/Tuck "Hiro Yoshimura" SERIES FINALE 3/3/10 65 MIN

I thought it went out with a whimper. I was expecting something really crazy. Even the case of the week was dull.

A lot of the stuff didn't make sense. Sean makes a nursery and Liz decides right then and there she needs to leave? (wouldn't most people need to think about such a decision first?) Granted she ended up staying with him leaving, but I found that whole scene rushed and awkward.

And dream Kimber tells Christian that she had to kill herself to get away from him? I thought she killed herself because he broke it off with her for good. Whatever.

Glad this show is over.

I agree. For a show that was a habitual line stepper, I expected something outrageous to go out on. Oh well.

I know its just a tv show and what not, but why would the porno film actually show the old man dying, already shot and edited and what not.

Me too. It was almost like I had to watch these final few seasons because I have watched it from the beginning and felt I had to stay with it until the end. That's just how I am I guess. This show should have ended about 3 seasons ago. It has been below average for a while now and I am glad it is over. I don't have force myself to watch it every Wednesday just so I can say I am sticking with the show until the bitter end. Some shows know how to leave at the right time and some shows like this hang on way too long.

Re: Nip/Tuck "Hiro Yoshimura" SERIES FINALE 3/3/10 65 MIN

i was surprised the end was so calm. nothing big happened at all. was surprised at all the 'happy' endings for everyone...especially matt! i thought he was gonna kill himself at the end lol

id say the shield had a much better finale than this show did. isnt rescue me almost done as well?

I was hoping Matt would jump out the window.

Rescue Me has 2 more seasons planned.

It was announced on August 28, 2009 that FX had decided to end the series in 2011 after a total of seven seasons and 93 episodes. The finale is expected to coincide with the 10th anniversary of 9/11.[1]

The highlight of the episode was when Christian asked Sean if he ever dropped Matt on his head as a baby.

Re: Nip/Tuck "Hiro Yoshimura" SERIES FINALE 3/3/10 65 MIN

EW's write up:

Well the fat lady has sung (and probably got some lipo on her way out of the building): FX’s Nip/Tuck has finished its television run. For my money, no other show recent television has been so shocking, infuriating, fascinating, terrifying, and entertaining. It’s been a roller-coaster ride with highs (season two’s phenomenal showcase of Famke Janssen as Ava Moore) and lows (season three’s gross Carver storyline). But I’m genuinely sad to see this series end.

Tonight’s finale wisely eschewed amped-up dramatics and instead focused on the bromance between Christian and Sean, the beating heart of the show. Although there was still time for some typical Nip/Tuck craziness like, oh I don’t know, Japanese senior citizen porn! But it was an oddly apt metaphor for Sean to realize he needed to move on and live his dream.

Julia has always been kind of a pill but she did have one of the night’s best lines to Christian: “You steal people’s souls.” Ouch. Mean but fair. It was all amplified by Kimber’s great final appearance where she admitted to Christian that she had to kill herself to get away from him. Yikes! Way to kick a guy when he’s down.

Sean has never come off more sad and pathetic than on tonight’s episode. He just seemed to be grasping at anything and anyone for support and comfort. It was especially sad at the big dinner good-bye scene when he had to part ways with Julia and his kids. I still don’t really understand how he’s okay with them moving to England.

If ever there was a way to spin-off Nip/Tuck, I think it’s through the character of Ava Moore. Famke Janssen is just AWESOME in this role. I could totally watch a series just about her and her crazy life (Janssen has also never looked better!). Her scene with Sean in which she abandoned her baby was just great. “I’m not the monster. I’m just one of its victims!” But it felt incredibly fitting that Ava would end up with Matt and that Matt would end the series completely lying to Christian. Ava is someone who yearns to be adored and look normal and Matt can give that to her. FX, let’s get that spin-off going…except maybe lose Matt. Or at least get his eyebrows and hair under control.

Is it me or did Matt look like he had just woken up throughout the entire episode? It was like every scene he showed up with bedhead. I’ve never been a fan of that character so I could just be nit picking.

And finally Liz got some respect! After years of being on the sidelines, Christian and Sean finally made her a partner. And, more importantly, she got to say the series’ iconic line: “Tell me what you don’t like about yourself.”

Speaking of which, Christian sitting down Sean and asking him that very question was definitely one of the best moments of last night’s finale. It just felt quite fitting. And I have to say that I got a little teary-eyed during their farewells at the airport. And I loved that the episode ended with Christian hitting on a Kimber lookalike at the airport bar. Perfect. Nothing changes.

The entire episode was fairly quiet and subtle for Nip/Tuck standards and I’m okay with that. We’ve had enough crazy cliff-hangers and loopy finales. This felt more personal and character-specific.

I enjoyed the ending a lot. It wasn't quite up to par the last couple of seasons, but I still enjoyed the heck out of this ridiculous show. I will miss it, but I'm glad it's over, because I don't know what else they could've done with the show.
