DVD Talk review of 'Triangle - Lenticular Packaging'
I read Rohit Rao's DVD review of Triangle - Lenticular Packaging at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=42365 and...I have to admit I saw this film expecting a B movie horror flick enhanced only by the wonderful Melissa George. Boy was I pleasantly surprised!
You are indeed correct regarding the marketing problem the film faced, and their decision to portray it as a slasher flick will indeed turn off some folks who otherwise would enjoy the film.

Thanks for reading the review. I know it's a tough sell but I think folks who watch the movie will see that it's worth it going in with as little info as possible. I have a few friends who don't love horror movies (I know...I don't need friends like that) but I think even they would be pleasantly surprised at what Triangle slowly (r)evolves into.
As for the naming of the release, just wait until the next sequel: Triangle - Slimline Attack =)

I haven't seen Timecrimes yet. It's on my list and I fully expect to enjoy it when I get around to it. Even if it has as many elements in common with Triangle as I've heard, that won't take away from my appreciation for the latter and my enthusiasm for Melissa George's performance. I guess I'll just double my love for both films rather than splitting it.

Re: DVD Talk review of 'Triangle - Lenticular Packaging'
I've seen both and personally, I found TRIANGLE to be far superior. While the two share some of the same concepts, there was more to chew on in TRIANGLE. And Melissa George's performance ran a much greater gamut of emotions than the lead in TC (who I found to become rather annoying). TRIANGLE also carried more surprises and had a poignancy that I didn't feel with TC. So, while I enjoyed and was occasionally fascinated by TC, I found TRIANGLE to be the best film I've seen this year so far. Only reason I'm not purchasing it is because the UK edition has tons of extras, including commentary, making the U.S. release something of a rip-off. So I'll have to wait either for an NTSC edition of that release or for a PAL-compatible player. Next up for me is THE BOX. Having seen the TWILIGHT ZONE episode it was based on and knowing that opinions are mixed on the film, I'm looking forward to another hoped-for mind-bender after enjoying TRIANGLE.
