Is Weeds: Season Five worst than Four?
Hi
I have just watched Weeds: Season Four ... well ... it is BAD! VERY BAD!!
I loved Weeds: Season One but in my opinion each season is worst than the previous one.
So:
Is Weeds: Season Five worst than Four?
Please, no spoilers. I will probably buy it ...
Thanks

I am watching 4 now. Do most fans hate it? I thought all seasons improved over the first one. I like how outlandish some of the situations get to be.

Ugh. Yes this show started sucking hard after season 2. I always found it HIGHLY overrated. Season 4 was awful. Season 5 was barely any better.

S1 and S2 were great... S3 was horrible and S4 was even worse... S5 sucked, but was better than the last 2 seasons.

See, I was fine with S3. So S4 and S5 are bad? I guess I will rent them. I own S1-3 on Blu-ray after renting them. So has the show totally "jumped the shark"?

Weeds, for me, is the prime example of what can go terribly wrong with a TV show when it gets success/expectations beyond the conceived arc.
Season 1 was very good with largely conceivable plot lines. The subsequent seasons have just devolved so much in that area. I really think Benji had a show that would have been great for 1 or 2 seasons. But because it was a big success there is now a need to stretch it out and the storylines and plot devices are just really half baked (pun intended).
This is why I appreciate Ricky Gervais even more. The man hit two home runs with The Office & Extras. He could have kept going on both but he & Stephan charted out the arc and stuck to it.
I am absolutely struggling through season 4 right now. I have season 5 queued up and I keep asking myself why.
Season 1 = Prime rib.
Season 2 = Steak
Season 3 = Chopped Steak
Season 4 = Beef Jerky
Season 5 = Dog food?

I think the problem may be that they believed they would be criticized for glamorizing pot dealing if they continued to have her doing it with little consequence. So they may have felt they had to ramp up the danger and get her involved in rougher trade like heroin, and that's when it lost the funny.

^ Yea, not getting caught selling pot was too controversial, so they moved her up to human trafficking and heroin and she STILL hasn't faced consequences.
From S1 it's ALL downhill.

Quit after 4. It was just too ridiculous.

The first two seasons were great and then the show went to shit. I watched about half of season 5 before I turned it off and gave up on the show forever. Not even the Mary-Louise Parker nudity could salvage it. It has become a truly awful show.

Season 5 was absolute poop in my opinion. Season 4 wasn't that good either. Everything went downhill as soon as the Mexican politician was introduced.

I am halfway through Season 5.
I agree that Seasons 1 through 3 were better, but there is nothing wrong with Season 5 and it is certainly watchable. That being said, if you didn't like Season 4 then you probably won't like Season 5.

Yeah, it will never be like S1. Quit now if you can.
I'm still watching S6 though.
I mean, I'm still watching Heroes...

You forget child endangerment. She has ruined her kids lives. They will be lucky not to spend their lives in prison. If they don't, it's only because they weren't caught for the crimes they will surely commit.
