Re: Damages -- "It's Not My Birthday" -- 02/22/10
I like how Ellen's talk at the bar with the potential Hewes/Shayes & Assoc. hire harks back to Ellen's own conversation with Hollis Nye in Season 1.
Once I saw Danielle take that sip I had a feeling she was a goner. With the way Tobin's daughter was ranting about the investors in her eulogy you had the sense she was going to be some key figure in this whole mess.
In her dream sequences, I see how the blood can represent Patty's guilt and the messy path she's taken to get to her victories. But can someone explain to me the symbolism of the horse and the '3 cupcakes' for her birthday?

I liked how giddy Tom was at telling the Tobin's they couldn't take anything worth over $20
I thought them using the dream sequence was funny since the producers said they felt dream sequences were lazy writing and they weren't going to do them anymore.

Looks like we are inching closer and closer to finding out what happened to Tom. Something tells me the Tobins had something to do with it but I keep going back to Patty running up the stairs about what happened from last weeks show.
Martin Short's character is one weird, creepy fellow.

Great episode. I didn't really care for the one last week (Michael returned ugh) but this one was very good. I just love the duplicity of all the characters involved in this season.
Yeah, the daughter was definitely unhinged during this episode. Campbell Scott's character has evolved pretty well from guy I felt sympathy in episode one to evil greedy guy who will do anything to get his cash.
I still don't think that Patty had anything to do with Tom's death.
