Psych - "A Very Juliet Episode" - 2/10/10
This show really doesn't get the coverage it deserves around here. But I really had to comment on this episode.
This was one of the best episodes of the entire series. In fact this whole run has been top notch after a lackluster start to season 4.
But tonight we got a story that came out of Juliet's past, even had her in the opening flashback as opposed to the usual Shawn and Gus flashback.
Beyond that, it was interesting to see Shawn stick to his guns when everything seemed to be going against him and everyone thought he was wrong.
I also cracked up at the Billy Zane references, especially since I bought The Phantom on Blu-ray earlier in the day.

I got to say this...
The back and forth between Juliet and Shawn needs to stop. It gets distracting and in a lot of scenes very annoying. Especially since some of those feel very, very forced now.
Shawn was given a love interest and he cares not to contact her or talk about her anymore? He gets jealous when Juliet's old flame appears? He still tries to flirt with Juliet when he was with Abigail?
I can understand some things being par for the Psych course but the writers have dealt with the tension between Juliet and Shawn numorous times and it needs to really stop.

That being said, it was the introduction of Abigail that realy brought the tension higher, since it was in that same episode that Juliet finally realized that she had feelings for Shawn.

Another great episode in a great.
I thought I was the only fan of this show here. I'm glad that's not the case.

I meant Shawn has not mentioned Abigail since she left for Uganda. Gus' parents get mentioned as does Shawn's mom and there is no mention of Abigail in any of the recent episodes?

This was a great episode. I loved how Shawn finally introduced Gus using his real name... to a gangster.
When this show is firing on all cylinders, it really hits it out of the park.

Very funny scene with Shawn and BURTON GUSTER talking to the gangster.
And I kind of hoped that Juliet's ex was the real killer.

I liked the "fight" scene with Shawn and Wayne. After Shawn knocked the gun out of his hand and slaps him "OK, I'm not proud of that." And after his nip up "Did you see what I just did?"
Between that and being enamored with Waring, this was a very good episode, particularly for Shawn.

Wasn't one of the big plot points of last weeks episode, the first episode without Abigail since she left for Uganda, how Shawn was jealous of Gus for having a girlfriend while he had just lost his?

There was a great exchange in the extreme ep last week that just killed us:
Gus: Shawn, you never read the Bible?
Shawn: Sure, Genesis, Exorcist, Leviathan, Deu-the right thing.
We were on the floor.

Good episode, but there were a couple of scenes that I just cracked up over. Every week this show provides more laughs than most of the comedies on TV.

Great episode! Love the jabs at the Mentalist; still don't know how they have not been sued by Psych...
Love the part where Gus's real name is used and all the inside stuff. Didn't see the pineapple though...

So I'm 15 minutes in to the first episode I've ever watched of the Mentalist, and holy shit, it really is a Psych ripoff. If this guy had better hair and a black sidekick it would be the same show.
