Re: Life Unexpected -- "Rent Uncollected" -- 02/01/10
I just got caught up with last week's episode earlier today and I really like this thus far. I think this show actually compliments One Tree Hill much better than Gossip Girl. Very mature drama with some interesting characters. I think the CW should consider moving Gossip Girl to Tuesday's and pair it with 90210 since they work better with each other in terms of demographic and Melrose is essentially as good as cancelled.

It's still a little too "After school Special", but I thought it was a great episode and the additional cast was superb, especially Cynthia Stevenson.
Between this and Men of a Certain Age, we are seeing a small resurgance of the family drama. I am glad it's not another goofy dramedy.

This really is a pleasant surprise that came into the middle of the tv season. I think the characters are continuing to develop nicely and the situations are somewhat unique. As Lux said the rules are already broken and we're seeing the results.
However, as has been said some of the elements are a little too "special of the week". However, I suppose that's an expect result of the show type and story.
I feel like I missed something though, because I thought Baze said he didn't know anything about Kate's "situation" back in high school.
