Solid episode
@ another nod to Season 1 with the Tobin mistress and Gregory Molina from the Frobisher case suffering similar fates going after their pets.
Just love how the show ratchets up the tension with the music and editing -- wonderful flashforward at the end. Looking forward to see how Tom and Ellen's relationship develops this season.
See ya Phil!

I wish i had the willpower to hold out and just buy the dvds so i could watch the entire series over a weekend. So much stuff going on it can get kinda confusing in weekly doses.

Why am I not surprised that Madchen Amick would be casted as the hot gold digger mistress?
Very good episode. I watched this, House and 24 tonight and thought this was the best of the bunch.
Honestly, I was really surprised with the reveal that Tom and Ellen had some type of relationship leading up to his death. I never really sensed that they had any type of attraction let alone sexual tension between them. I have to assume that Tom losing all his money led him to seek some comfort from Ellen. The show does throw out some interesting surprises. I look forward to seeing how that develops.
Someone refresh my memory, what led Patty and Tom to that bum? I know in the flash forwards he has Ellen's bag, license and he was near Tom's body.
I have to say also that the casting director deserves major props for bringing Campbell Scott to season 2. He has such a dynamic presence on screen. Love his scenes with Len Cariou.

After Madchen Amick got run over I was expecting a scene with Tom Noonan interrogating the cat "Six Months Later".
Justified looks bad-ass.

They tracked the phone number the father called Thanksgiving night to the cell phone he had found along with the boots.

The Justified promo looked really badass. It's cool to see Walton Goggins get another gig after The Shield.

I wanted to hold off on Season 3, but I just can't do it!
Season 2 started off really good and look where that went (IMO down the drain) - I hope season 3 doesn't follow suit.

I don't know if I like the idea of Tom and Ellen. She doesn't seem like the type to do that. There'd have to be a great reason and I hope the writers come up with a good one.

Do we know that Tom and Ellen being involved is sexual? Could it just be her helping him with the Tobin case or perhaps helping to find the missing money since Tom lost everything?

Just watched the episode and thought it was very good. I really enjoyed watching the Joe Tobin character as there were so many different shades to him.
I'm shocked that Phil would think that Patty would want to reconcile with him. I just hope they don't bring back the son, Michael, this year.
There's also the entire "where's the money" aspect/angle this year which gives the season a little extra kick.
There's no William Hurt this year and they seemed to at least streamlined their plots and gotten rid of some of the side soap opera plots (Michael, Wes from last year as an example) that bogged down season 2.
This show still features mulitiple storylines but at least they connect in some way or another.

I'm not sure that Phil wants to get back together with Patty out of love for her. He may have some other motive (maybe he lost all his money in the Tobin thing, too).
