My wife just got me the 676, and the 525 Onkyo DVD player... mind you I'm just a beginer!!! I will be getting a check for $3500 in ten days and will sped it all on my home theater. I plan on a 53" Sony V85 so that deducts about 2300. Please recommend a set of front and a center for $1000...I will use $200 or so on monster cables... thanks in adavance.
I have been told that it may be worth while to purchase two center speakers, one for the TV the other for behind the couch??? Kinda been told the same with a sub woofer...what do you guys think?
thanks...Fran

I'd look into B&W speakers and Velodyne subs. They're not terribly expensive, and do an excellent job for both music and movies, IMHO.
Since you're looking for cables, too, you might check http://www.audioadvisor.com . They have some very nice speaker and interconnect cables by MIT on closeout sale. I recently picked up a set of $180 speaker cables for $75. It might be worth a look.
Have fun shopping!

Hey there, Homer. I made this chili with something extra, just for you.

Care for a taste?
-Chief Wiggum (of the Simpsons)
DVDs..... Is there anything they can't do?
