J.R. Ewing and the Rest may return for a new "Dallas"

http://www.ultimatedallas.com/dallas...ng-back-on-tv/

I would only be interested in a new "Dallas" if they brought back the original kids who played John Ross III (J.R.'s son) and Christopher Ewing (Bobby's adopted son). John Ross III was played by Omri Katz, and Christopher was played by Joshua Harris.

An interesting prospect would be bringing back Victoria Principal as Pamela Barnes Ewing - a woman who finally emerged out of nowhere. Hey, why not? That's what people (fans) would want, I'm sure.

And using the character of Lucas Wade Ewing would be cool, too, and why? Because he's Bobby Ewing's natural-born son, and I'd like to see his inter-relationship with his "father" and "brother." Lucas was raised by Bobby's half-brother Ray Krebbs and Elvis Presley's widow, Jenna.

I always thought it would be a great idea for Dallas-fans to have a new show, showing the progress of the children, and telling their stories. For all I care, J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) can be completely Peripheral, as well as the rest of the older cast. The new show really should focus on the grown-up sons of J.R., Bobby, Ray, and Gary.

Here's to hoping.

I think there was a thread about this before.

God, I hope they never remake Dallas. Nobody can ever beat Larry Hagman as J.R. Probably the best tv character ever. Leave it alone.

There have been a number of ideas kicked around for a revival. I seem to recall a movie pitch around the times of the Dukes of Hazard movie.

Sasha Mitchell could use a gig.

The thread before was about the "Dallas" movie, but this thread is about the TV show being revised with Larry Hagman and company.

Yep, forget about it unless the original cast is involved in its entirety.

So does mean the movie isn't happening? Or will this be a Terminator deal but in reverse?

You need to watch all the James Bond movies. You'll learn that if you find the right actor he will fit in just fine and continue an iconic series.

I'd rather see a Knot's Landing TV show.

John Travolta was supposed to play JR in the proposed feature film that never got made. I believe J-Lo was supposed to play Sue Ellen. That would have been a fucking train wreck of a movie.

Didn't JR kill himself when the Cabaret devil in the mirror told him to in the finale?

No, he was back in the reunion movies in the 90s.

I thought they talked about a project like this a few years back. I didn't know the idea had been resurrected. If they go ahead with it, I think it would be an interesting twist to have John Ross be the good Ewing and Christopher be the bad one. Chances are Gary's offspring would be left out completely since the continuities of Dallas and Knot's Landing split irrevocably when Pam had her dream.

He shot the mirror (as later revealed in the reunion movies mentioned).

Might be a little hard to get Barbara Bel Geddes involved.

True, and that's a shame.
