Re: Leverage -- "The Zanzibar Marketplace Job" -- 01/27/10
Pretty good episode tonight.
It was kind of weird seeing the team working with Sterling in this episode since he was such a prick last season. The twist with the Assistant actually being the mastermind behind the stolen egg was surprising. Loved how Parker managed to swap the egg and bomb while the elevator was in descent.
I've always liked Kari Matchett and she has good chemistry with Hutton...Much better than Gina Bellman. Didn't really see the point of bringing Sophie in this episode through video conference again. It seems like they are more or less forcing her into these episodes even though Jeri Ryan has been a pretty good fill-in IMO.
The switcheroo at the end with the license plates was clever.
I know heavily serialized shows get more discussion/interest in this forum, but this is such a clever and fun show.

Leverage, for me, is the kind of show that you watch and like, but that you are not gonna have a lot of thoughts about worth posting.

On this episode i thought it was pretty funny how sterling was wailing on Eliot with the expandable baton and it wasn't doing anything. At first it took me out of things, because there is no way someone is getting whacked with an ASP in the thigh and it not having an effect, but by the second time they cut to it, i was thinking it was goddamn funny and i wish i had a Gif of that.

Love to see Kari Matchett. I wish they'd bring her in full time. She and Hutton were so good in Nero Wolfe, and it's great to see them together again.

This show seemed to have a lot more wit and back and forth between the characters then the previous one.
I don't know why but when Parker said "She's the most honest person we know, but other than that she's OK", it had me rolling (I'm sure I butchered the exact quote but it was something to that effect) - I'm not sure if it's the deadpan way in which she states these types of observations, but I find it pretty damn funny.

I liked her talking about her visit to the museum and the cool security systems they and then the look on her face when Hardison asked about the paintings.
