My wife and I are thrilled at the prospect of moving to Southampton, England, but WHAT DO I DO WITH MY DVD COLLECTION? I have a Toshiba 2109, which I love, and about 45 DVDs. Will I have to get rid of it all and start over? Or can I take my 2109 and somehow get it to work on a PAL tv? Or can I get a player in the UK that will play Region One discs? Any assistance/advice would be appreciated. HELP!

Fret not. Most modern (1995 on) UK TVs will accept a "pure" NTSC signal and convert it to a quasi PAL signal for display purposes, although you may have to connect via a scart cable as this is the most commonly found connection on the rear of TV sets in Europe.
Oh, and bring lots of money, it’s hellishly expensive over here.
Ps: You’ll also need a voltage converter for 110/220 volts which you can pick up at Radio Shack for $10 or so.
