Tarnsformers and Other "Morphing" Cases

I posted in the Transformers thread, but got no reply to my question. I just ordered the Megatron 2 Disc Robotic case (or whatever they are caleld) from Best Buy. I wanted the 1) FYE Steelbook or the 2) Optimus Prime robotic case, but 1) is sold out and 2) wasn't available at Best Buy to use my gift card. Anywho, I was wondering if this would fit on my shelf like the regular movies? Is it too big and bulky that won't fit or are there parts that protrude and could damage something else? Should I just have it sit on top of my shelf as the Robot it morphs to? If anyone had some picture of this case (or a similar one) with a standard DVD case front and sideways to compare that would be phenomenal! TIA

Brian

You could try looking in the Cases and Covers forum here. http://forum.dvdtalk.com/dvd-talk-co...es-inserts-35/ Xage has some nice pics that he has posted.
I have the megatron and Optimus transforming cases, and they seem to be standard dvd case height. And probably about the same thickness as a double amaray case.

Thanks, I found some videos on YouTube as well as his pictures. Torn whether I want to stand them up or leave them on the shelf with other movies.

I havent opened mine yet, but when I do, I plan to transofrm them, and stand them up on display. I like to display the litte tchotkes that come with some dvds in empty areas of my shelves. Like the statues that came with the Lord of the Rings EEs, and the Impala Matchbox car that came with one of the seasons of Supernatural, etc.

Didn't even realize I spelled it wrong in the title. Oh well. I found out Optimus Prime is about 12-14" tall, Megatron is about 12" and Bumble Bee is close to the same.
