I"m looking to purchase a DVD Player very soon. I"m looking to spend 300 Dollars or less.

I've been looking at Sony's. Are these decent DVD players or are better ones out there? I want to especially be able to play CDRs and CDRW's It would be nice to be able to play CDRs full of MP3s.

If anyone can help it would be appreciated. Please email me at [email protected]

Thanks,

I've had the Toshiba 2109 for over a year and haven't had a single problem with it. You should be able to find a newer model for under $300. Some people have had some problems with certain dvd's, so you may want to be cautious, but I've not had a problem.

If you want to play CD-R or CD-RW, I think Pioneer DV-333 is your best bet. It reads any media I throw into it. I am not sure that Sony will even read a CD-R or CD-RW. The model I tested before purchase did not. About 90% fo DVD players have trouble with CD-R or CD-RW. As for MP3, the only model that I know of with MP3 ability is the Raite AV715. I can only guess that it supports CD-R or CD-RW.

Hope this helps.

I would caution you about Toshiba. If you have any doubts, call them and tell them you have a player with a problem and see how much info they are willing to share with you. Also every player seems to have problems with different DVD's. Seems like a lot of headaches for the sake of playing a movie.

You might want to look at the Sony DVP-530D DVD Player. You should be able to buy for $250.00 or less online. Plays CD-RW's with audio and VCD. I do not own one but I am thinking about buying one since it includes a Digital Decoder.

Go with a Pioneer. Will play everything you want and will have MANY outputs for present and future use. The next player I buy will most likely be a Pioneer.
