BD/VHS combo?
Now, THIS is not something I would have expected!!
A machine that plays both Blu-ray discs AND VHS tapes!

(see last paragraph)

If it's around the same price as a regular BD player I may actually want one. I wouldn't under any other circumstances, but if this turns out to be the case pricing wise then it might be something to consider. I don't even own any VHS tapes anymore but some films have never made it to DVD/Blu and may never. Then again, VHS quality isn't too great... but it might be worth having. Hmm....

Interesting. I guess this is old news. I probably wouldn't get one anyway, especially now that I looked up the price... but it's good they have something like this available.

The Panasonic is like $300. Not bad if you have a parent who refuses to dump VHS and wants to rent/buy DVD/Blu-ray.
And if anyone didn't notice, the OPs link is a year old

Re: BD/VHS combo?
I actually wouldn't mind it, except for the higher price and the bulkiness. My wife has a lot of home videos still on VHS and she doesn't like having the VCR installed. She says there are too many components. Of course, when it came Christmas time and she wanted to watch her old Christmas videos from when she was a kid, she wasn't too happy that we couldn't watch them. Other than that, I wouldn't watch VHS (except for the Lost Orientation video if I bought that set).

As with all the DVD/VHS machines that are out, this is a stupid idea because the VCR is basic- it SHOULD include S-VHS and hi-def D-Theater playback. Most likely the VCR will wear out within a year if it's used at all.
