Hello,I will get a cheap Rearprojection TV for only 400$ from Sony, now I thought ,because it has only a display of 36 inch, I could open the TV at the front and let out the picture on the wall. Would it be possible?

Maybe, but everything would be backwards and the picture would probably really suck.

I have never had a rear projection, but I am sure the screen does something.

Well, that sounds like a novel idea.

RPTVs do use mirrors inside the set to properly display the image.

I think your biggest problem is going to be how little light an RP tv probably puts out compared to a true front projection setup. That and loss of detail. FPTV's usually have line doublers built into them and/or people add on line doublers themselves.

Sounds doubtful to me, though.

You could try it.

The picture would look washed out, completely out of focus, have a serious keystoning problem, be backwards, and pretty much be unwatchable. Not to mention you could irrepairably damage your set as well as increase the dust intake by 5000%.

I say go for it. Just crank that contrast, brightness and color up to 100%. Sure you'll only get 1/10th the life out of the set, but really what matters is the machoism factor in actually rigging this up! Ask yourself this..."Am I man (or woman) enough??? Hell yes!"

p.s. In case you missed the sarcasm...you'll be severely disappointed with the results if you try this.
