This is also a first day purchase for me. Hopefully the online lag is fixed.

Much too long to list here but pastapadre has a "fact sheet" list on what is new, or upgraded, this year.

SO glad they left Home Run Derby in this year. That is my favorite mode to play and it never made sense to me why they would have it on the PS2 version but leave it off the version that should be superior (PS3).

Oh yeah it is going to be all kinds of awesome when I hit my first home run at US Cellular and I see the fireworks.
Only thing I wish they'd add is the ability to import RTTS players from previous versions.

This will be my return to console baseball for the first time in about 15 years. I think the last console baseball game I owned was Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball on the SNES.
I spent years in PC Baseball with the Hardball, High Heat and MVP Baseball franchises. Last year I migrated to the PC version of Major League Baseball 2K10, but now that I have a PS3 the time has come to try out this franchise. I just don't know if I will ever get used to playing without modded stadiums. After so many years of having accurate stadiums with real ads in MVP, it just seems like such a step back going to a closed system like a PS3.

Amazon give $10 for MLB 09....I may dump mine. I don't ever see myself going back in time. Typical sports game scenario. I don't mind though.
