When an action star plays a babysitter, their career has jumped the shark
Hulk Hogan did it with Mr. Nanny. Arnold Schwarzenegger did it with Kindergarten Cop. Vin Diesel did it with The Pacifier. Jackie Chan did it with The Spy Next Door. Chuck Norris did it in Sidekicks.
Bruce Willis, Sly Stallone, and Clint Eastwood have yet to do it, but it's only a matter of time.

Kindergarten Cop (1990)
Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
Last Action Hero (1993)
True Lies (1994)
I dont think Arnie jumped the shark until Batman

Arnold played a teacher - not a babysitter - in Kindergarten Cop. Not the same.
EDIT: And since when was Hulk Hogan considered an action star?

Not a babysitter, per se, but The Rock, er, Dwayne Johnson did the Game Plan, and Bruce Willis did The Kid.*
*I haven't seen the movies, but based on the trailers they might as well have been babysitters. Also, YMMV on whether or not their careers JtS at that moment.

Change "babysitter" to "family comedy featuring precocious/obnoxious/preening children".
FWIW I never liked any of the Schwarzenegger "comedies": Twins, Kindergarten Cop, Jingle All The Way, Junior, etc. I found them all horrifically unfunny and borderline retarded. The unforced or unintentional humor in the Terminator movies, Total Recall, Commando, etc. brought infinitely more laughs than watching him get hit in the groin with a baseball, doing pratfalls, clutching his head in frustration with the antics of wacky kids, etc.
There's money in family comedies when your career needs a serious boost. Compare the grosses of "DOOM" with those of "THE GAMEPLAN". I highly doubt your career jumps the shark when you become commercially viable; your respectability, artistic relevance , credibility or whatever the fuck you want to call it, on the other hand...

Tommy Lee Jones was a babysitter of sorts in some cheerleader movie a few years ago. However, he's done quite nicely recently.
