I don't think it was that big of a dud - but was not as strong as the rest of the episodes.

Kind of wished we got to see Nelson get the lamb.

Not to bust in with the Simpsons nerdery or anything, but this episode marks the fourth decade in which new Simpsons episodes have aired. (80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s)

A plot wasn't that great. On the other hand the random jokes were great. And the B plot was great.
