2010 Predictions?
Thought this might be a fun thread to end the year with.
Microsoft will announce a Release date and price of 'Natal' ; November and $150
PS3 will see consistently good sales each month.
The PSP Go will have a price cut; $200
Nintendo will continue with the same winning strategy of focusing on Casual gaming.
And Scott1598 will finish Halo 3

That is not a winning strategy for them anymore. They have lost market share do to lazy business moves. For that reason, I predict that they will make the necessary adjustments to bring more true gamers. Hopefully, they will also release a hard drive for the system as well as the Kid Icarus and Donkey Kong games that are overdue.

If the Natal is $150 it'll be the biggest flop since that Tony Hawk game.
My prediction: we will see an announcement for at least one next-next gen console.

I don't see a hard drive in the future of the Wii...
I think Natal will come in less than $150, and
I don't think a next gen console will be announced by any of the big 3.
I'll have to think about positive predictions a bit more...

Natal will be $75 or less... or will fail.

Re: 2010 Predictions?
Nintendo will release yet another handheld that plays the same DS games...DSi-Extreme!!! The startup screen is awesome, it laughs at you while it shows you the $150, $170, and $200 that you spent on handhelds that play the same software.
Also, Nintendo will find another way to market all of the Mario games from day one again, because you just can't play Super Mario 3 enough!!
Natal hits at $129, but comes bundled with some kind of MA title, like Soul Calibur.
Guitar hero comes out with "One-Man-Band-Hero" which has a Rick Allen type two-pedal drum kit, a guitar, and a headset microphone.
The PS3 will release a game that I will buy, which will be my first, and I bought my PS3 at launch.

Re: 2010 Predictions?
fixed!
i've barely finished 3 games in my lifetime but will hopefully get through all them and then what? "Reach" comes out in 2010...ay ay ay.
i predict:
1. i will spend a lot of money on old games that i've missed out on since gaming became in vogue.
2. i predict i will ask for a lot of help with games people played and finished 7 years ago.
3. i predict i will ask a lot of inane and silly questions that have been answered many times over in multiple threads scattered around the Video Game Talk Forum.
oh wait, this was all just in the past two weeks!
4. i predict i will finally shut up and play! (hey...a guy can dream)

From 2008 to 2009 Wii sales went down while PS3 went up. Even though they still lead in console sales, Nintendo lost some market share. People in the gaming industry blamed this on the lack of interesting games for the Wii and the console limits in both hardware and software functions.

I predict Mass Effect 2 will own my ass...
I predict I will just be getting over Mass Effect 2 and able to walk normal when Bioshock 2 will bend me over and own my ass again....
Alan Wake will be a flop....
Alpha Protocol will not be worth the wait...
Fable 3 will be pushed because of problems with the Natal...
Halo Reach will blow the balls off anyone who has ever loved a Halo game, look fantastic.... but people will still say Goldeneye is a better game, because it makes them look cool....

Re: 2010 Predictions?
I'd say Wii sales went down because so many people already have one now, and PS3 sales went up because there are great games being released and it's price went down. A change in software for the Wii probably wouldn't change that from happening.

Re: 2010 Predictions?
Oh man! Is this the "2010 Predictions" or the "Nintendo Bashing" thread?
Looks like there are some people who still can't handle Nintendo's complete domination of this generation.

Re: 2010 Predictions?
I can handle it, but it is puzzling. I've owned one since launch, and unfortunately I have 25-30 games for it, but they just sit on the shelf. There isn't an Xbox game that I own that doesn't have more time logged playing it than all 25-30 Wii games combined, and I have three sons, ages 4, 7, & 9. My opinion is, Nintendo better pocket the cash while they can because I don't think they're going to be #1 next generation. They managed to scoop up alot of casual & non-gamers this gen, but I don't think the same people will drink the KoolAid next time around. The Wii is a Pet Rock, Tickle Me Elmo, or a Smiley-Face T-shirt...the fad will end.

Looks like there are some people who still can't handle any comments about Nintendo that aren't positive. Ridiculous.
