Are theaters packed on Christmas Eve Day?

1. Wondering how crowded isolated theaters (with no mall or strip with them)?

2. How crowded theaters in a mall are?

From your experiences with going to see a flix at matinee like 12:00pm or so on this day. Want to know both experiences.

Really hate venturing out anywhere with crazy driving and such, but might kick myself to get out and see "Avatar" tomorrow...

If you live by a lot of Jews, then yes.

Not even factoring a non-christmas celebrating community, yes. Yes they are. Not much else to do and they're open. Why do you think they have big titles opening on Christmas day. It's a day that after you've open your gifts or before you go to Christmas dinner is filled with a void of anything to do.

No.

But keep in mind most if not all chains have their last showings around 7pm. I was bored last Christmas Eve and it took me forever to find a theater that had a showing start after 7 - and I had to settle for The Day The Earth Stood Still.

Re: Are theaters packed on Christmas Eve Day?

It was when I worked there. Similar to a busy Friday night. Then Christmas day, everything would be 'limited seating'.

mcfly... It's full days around here. Unless you live outside the city, I don't see why anyone would close at 7PM. I mean, we would open back up at 10AM Christmas morning, no exceptions. For a theater to close early on Christmas Eve and then have employees work all day Christmas is kind of silly.

On another note, I accidently got stuck in mall traffic today. It sucked. Took me a good twenty minutes to go a mile. And I wasn't even going to the mall. *guff*

I saw a matinee of I Am Legend on Christmas Eve a couple of years ago and it wasn't packed at all that day.
