Can anyone tell me whats different about these two receivers? The specs I have found are identical.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Certainly,
I spoke with Richard at Denon and he said the power rating is a little lower. They have replaced the surround binding posts with those cheap spring loaded ones. The digital circuitry (sp?) no longer uses the Denon chip (DDSC) and uses the crystal I believe (don't quote me on that). The dial on the left to select options is now separate buttons. They have added S-Video. The MSRP has gone down to $499 so don't expect to have to pay the same as the 1800. You should be able to get a better deal. The best I have found is $385 plus shipping at Uncles Stereo.
