The top 8 dancers perform on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE, the series that has America on its feet. Dancers must impress the judges with their moves and rigorous routines in order to remain in the competition.

"Results Show" - Wednesday, December 9 - 9/8c - 1 hour

Two of the final 8 dancers are eliminated.

Looks like Jakob and Mollee got the weakest dances. I've thought about it and I think I want Mollee and Russell gone. Neither Ashleigh nor Ryan should win, so I'd be ok with them in the top 6.

Looking foward to the cha-cha.

Ashleigh look bad, dance and dress-wise, in that hip hop routine. At first, I thought she wear some sort of summo wrestling hip hop pants.

I knew Ahleigh got hurt but thought she still could perform. Oh well.

Shane Sparks hip-hop was disappointing. They could have let Russell do better stuff, but his solo was a bit weak. He did fine with bollywood though.

Legacy's solo was great. Alien dance was just weird. Table dance was cool (Ellenore looked great in that), but the dance was indeed dangerous.

Jakob and Mollee's routines were both good. I think Mollee has improved, so wouldn't mind if she made it instead of Ashleigh.

Didn't like the disco. Loved the cha-cha.

I'm still thinking Russell should leave. As for the girls, as long as Ellenore and Kathryn are safe, I'm happy.

Shame about Ashleigh, -she had a prime spot and a popular partner, and I think she would have been a sure bet if she'd performed. I wish they'd shown more of her rehearsal footage.

Russell isn't going anywhere, -I'd be surprised if he doesn't win the whole thing.

Legacy and Elenore's "Mr and Mrs Smith number was great, but Nat/Tab really dropped the ball with their second number. Maybe if they'd done the whole thing "backwards"...

I've got a feeling Ryan's going tomorrow, which is sort of a shame, because he was good tonight. Unfortunately, so were all the other guys. Still, Ryan did right by his wife, and as much as I hate to admit it, that moment sort of touched me.

Jakob and Mollee made the best of the weak hand they were dealt.

For me, I think Ellenore and Legacy need to leave now. The first dance was great, but their solos and that Nappy/Tab routine sucked.

But the judges' comments at the end... is this a competition or a tele-thon?

Mollee really impressed me tonight though having Jakob as a partner certainly helps.

Legacy's solo was OK but I liked last week's solo a lot better.

I think that both Ryan and Ashleigh will be sent home, and that either Jakob or Legacy will win next week.

I'm rooting for Russell although I don't think his solo was very strong last night. I'm interested to see if Ashleigh makes it through to the final.

Is Russell snakebit in terms of partners getting hurt? I am just ambivalent towards him as a dancer, though.

Mollee still has ways to go in the performing/chemistry side of things, she has a lot of physical potential but her intangibles are still not up to snuff, and Jakob had to do more of the load on the performance side of the numbers.

Sometimes 2 out of the box dancers don't pair up as well, and that showed in the pairing of Legacy and Ellenore, while they had a strong first number, they don't quite connect in the chemistry department, just in the gymastics tricks and manuevers.

Ryan and Kathryn ran away with the chemistry award for this show. Kathryn may not have the most amazing anything, but she's close to being the best all-around female dancer (Ellenore is her competition) in terms of re-inventing herself for each dance. Ryan put on his solid yeoman's effort and shared in their performances.

Will Ashleigh go tonight? Hmm... quite possibly both her and Ryan might go, even with his "pleading for his wife to stay" bit at the end of his solo. I'd be sad if Kathryn went home tonight, not so much for any of the others.

Heat

Last year's American Idol winner, Kris Allen, will perform his single "Live Like We're Dying" tonight. Adam Lambert will perform "Whataya Want From Me" for the show's season finale next week.

How are they going to do the finale with 6 dancers left? Usually there are 2 guys and 2 girls in the finale, and everybody dances with everybody... which leads to 6 paired routines (Guy 1 & Girl 1, Guy 1 & Girl 2, Guy 1 & Guy 2, Guy 2 & Girl 1, Guy 2 & Girl 2, Girl 1 & Girl 2).

I could maybe see them changing the all-male and all-female pairings into two three-person group dances, but that's still ten dances instead of six, not even counting solos. I'd hate it if they just make it a typical "one partner" week, because to me the fun of the finale is seeing everyone with everyone.

I'm not sure whether to think this will actually happen or not, but logic would lean me to think it might. Personally, his weepy plea came across as cloying enough to kill some of both his and her supporters.

If Ashleigh isn't voted off in the "semi-finals" and one of the girls is who danced their hearts out last night, then it'll pretty much kill the last bit of credibility that the show has held onto this season. It's already gotten ridiculous with some of the judges' decisions about who to keep and not based on their teenie-bopper viewers (Victor axed over Nathan and Ryan?), but that'd likely be the nail in the coffin.

Very happy Kathryn and Ellenore were safe, but Ellenore looked a bit too shocked. Wish it had been Russell instead of Legacy.

Kathryn and Jakob together next week should be excellent. Will be rooting for either one to win.

I call shenanigans on this show. I don't think they have ever handled injuries the way they have this season. I seem to remember a dancer 2 or 3 seasons ago who wasn't able to dance on performance night after being taken to the emergency room. I don't think voters were even given a chance to pick her. I remember her coming back on the results show to perform the number. Maybe she didn't have a doctor clearance for the rest of the season or something. I don't know, but I don't like someone who didn't even perform getting more votes than others who did.

I can't believe Russell and Ryan are both still in this competition.

I don't get all the hate for Russell -- IMO he's probably the best guy left.

I think everyone was stunned when Mollee was eliminated. I'd say the judges were stunned too but I'm pretty sure they know the results beforehand -- at least Nigel does. As others have stated, I like Ashleigh but she should have been eliminated. Period. If an athlete can't perform at a competition, they don't let the judges vote for him based on past competitions. Tough shit -- you're hurt, you're out. And that's the way this should have been handled.

All that said, if Kathryn doesn't win this she was robbed.

I realize that you're talking about the injury, but if the show was indeed rigged in any way, IMO, the producers would have found a way to keep Legacy over Ryan and Russell. Legacy is by far one of the more interesting and versatile contestants the show has ever had.

And is it just me, or does it sound like the judge's have completely given up on criticizing the dancers and choreographers? I stopped listening a couple of eps ago, opting to FF through many of the performances (except Travis's, who always rocks) and critiques because a.) the performances are often pretty awful (especially anything done by Tab/Nap), and b.) no matter how bad the dance, the judge's (even, surprisingly, Adam) always find something enormously positive to say (it's like listening to a trio of Paula Abduls).

I was surprised by the selections last night. I thought for sure Ryan and Ashleigh were both going home.

Still rooting for Russell to win it all.
