Will we ever see "The Wire" on Blu?

So, I know it's generally stupid to post threads like these, but some people have said that shows like the Wire will not be made available on Bluray because how they're filmed does not gain an improvement on Bluray.

This seems strange to me, but I'm not sure.

Any thoughts?

According to IMDB it was filmed in 35 mm, so it's definitely a possibility. Then again I would say 16 mm shows (such as The Shield) should also come to BD, though studio execs think the benefit isn't there.

The aspect ratio is not a factor in how good it can look. It seems this comes up every time a 4:3 show/movie is mentioned.

Correct. It's all about how it was shot and what it was shot on.

Much how people think that "old" movies don't need to be released on BR because they weren't "filmed in HD."

Huh? Hey if it looks as good as Star Trek TOS, then bring it on.

Why do you say that.
Seems like most people who have been around these boards the last few years should have picked up an informed opinion at least by accident
