So I've decided to go with either Dynaudio Audience 50's (bookshelf) or 60's (floor standing) for my main speakers in my new and improved home theater. However, they both have a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Does this mean that I will need an amplifier that is stable to 4 ohms? I'm not exactly sure what this all means, but I know I will probably need a nice amplifier to do these speakers justice.
The units in the store were running on Krell and Mark Levinson stuff, which is way out of my league budget-wise. My main question is:
Will I need to get a separate integrated amp to drive these speakers? Or will a receiver work? I was thinking something along the lines of getting a Denon 3300 or Marantz 7000 for now, but would I need to get a seperate amp and use the receiver as a pre/pro?
