I don't have it in front of me but I think the DVD related content was limited to $3 previously viewed titles being advertised (titles released in the last year or so like Taken, Slumdog Millionaire, Benjamin Button, etc.)

^Not suprising. Why would anyone want a PV for $6 when you can get *new* for $3? Even at $3 I'll be suprised if many get purchased. If they really want to unload them they need to price them at $2/ea. to make them a bit cheaper than the new titles.

One of my closest stores already put out this display earlier this week and by yesterday, over half of the DVDs were gone. The ones I bought were in very good condition. A few light scratches.

Probably because the average customer want newer titles like Benjamin Button
and pass up stuff like Shalako.
I was surprised yesterday at BL because a good majority of stuff I saw there two weeks ago was still in the bins ...I wonder if they scared off the resellers?

Yes they are. Spend $50 or more on Thursday, Friday or Saturday in one purchase and receive a $10 gc good from Nov 29 thru Dec 12.

Open Turkey day from 7am to 8pm. The Turkey day only deals show no dvds, only Playstation2 video games for $5 each. The rest of the ad shows furniture, sheets, towels, hoover vac, barbie dolls, etc...

Black Friday they open at 6am. Black Friday deals will be online on Wed 11/25.

Biglot stores in ME, MA, RI are closed on Turkey day. Prices are good Wed, 11/25/09 in those 3 states only.

All stores open early on Black Friday...

Re: Has Anyone Seen The Big Lots Black Friday Add?

Here are the list of $3 previously viewed titles listed in the ad. It does seem like the average consumer is more excited by these than the traditional stock.

Twilight
Slumdog Millionaire
The Wrestler
Role Models
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
Taken
Quantum of Solace
Pineapple Express
Rush Hour 3
Changeling
Seven Pounds

Your ad is different from my snail mail ThanksgivingDay ad specials....

The ad that covers Southern California (maybe all of the West Coast too???) has all the items you mentioned EXCEPT the James Bond boxed sets @ $20.

In its place, our ad shows Roadmaster Digital keychain, 1.4 inch color screen, displays more than 72 images, rechargeable battery, compare to $12.99 save 62% - $5.00

What state are you in?

It's an "ad" not "add".

I think "add" is prolly correct.

Biglots prolly did not have enough of the James Bond Box sets to go around nationwide, so it looks like the "Left Coast" got shafted (oops, I meant substituted) with the $5 Roadmaster Digital keychain... oh well....

FYI for inquisitive minds: "prolly" is a "shortened version of "probably" " according to the Urban dictionary...

I have to step away from my computer, I'm having too much fun...

Re: Has Anyone Seen The Big Lots Black Friday Add?

I don't have the James Bond sets in my ad either, so more than the Left Coast got shafted. Not that I really care, personally, because I have all the Bond films.

Re: Has Anyone Seen The Big Lots Black Friday Add?

I have discovered that at least in Wa State the new Warner batch is part of the Black Friday sale (though I'm told they will be $3, not sale priced). There is also some additional dvd's that are being kept secret even from store employees; stores are said to be under orders not to even open those boxes until Friday. I suspect they're either the previewed or the Bond boxes, but I don't know which.

Re: Has Anyone Seen The Big Lots Black Friday Add?

I have a friend who works at Big Lots and he told me that they only have 20 or 30 of the PV dvd's right now. He was expecting 200-300 but so far this is all that he had.

I assume they're asking what Big Lots is going to ADD to their inventory on Friday.
