I am interested in doing a DIY speaker project to upgrade my home theater from the cheapie Polk speakers I have, and was wondering where I can get information to get started, and where I can ask questions about it before I get started.
I've looked at some of the speaker kits at Avatar Audio (www.avataraudio.com), which have gotten good reviews, but I am clueless as to what to get or how to begin. Thanks in advance!

http://www.madisound.com also has DIY kits, including several of the more pricey Dynaudio models. I've gotten a bunch of components from them, and never had a problem. Their web site IS a bit rudimentary, but their prices are decent, and they have a really good selection.

Do a search for one of Patman's posts, he has some links about DIY audio including speakers that he has made himself there pretty cool.

Thanks for the info guys. I was interested in actually building some speakers with Dynaudio drivers, since my brother raves on and on about their car stereo quality.
I actually went to audition some Dynaudio home speakers today and was blown away. I'm not so sure I can build something like that anymore. Might just pick some of those up. http://talk.dvdtalk.com/ubb/smile.gif
But I could always build a sub. Thanks for the links guys.

Yup, there are plenty of sites for the DIYers. If you go to my homepage link in my signature, you'll see links to my DIY speakers and subwoofer.
