Sons of Anarchy -- "Balm" -- 11/10/09

Sons of Anarchy

Synopsis:

Spoiler:

Agent Stahl (Ally Walker) takes notice at the handsome profits SAMCRO is reaping from the repo business. Meanwhile, the Jax- Clay standoff forces Gemma to make a difficult decision.

3 more episodes left this season.

***Tonight's episode is 90 minutes***

I've been checking out Kurt Sutter's Twitter page. The guy is pretty funny.

A 90 minute runtime seems odd for the fourth-to-last episode. I'm guessing the last half hour will see some shit-hitting-the-fan developments. I'm more than ready for it.

Yeah I can't wait for this tonight. Since it's a 90 minute episode I bet she'll do the big reveal just before Jax goes out on his own.

Holy shit. I havent seen an episode all season (waiting to have them all, than a marathon) and I havent checked threads, thankfully I was tipped off in another thread (Warhawk!!!) that I have to records extra tonight. This is the only one, besides the premier, that has gone over an hour right? Ill be super pissed if Ive missed half of another episode.

That ending was really intense and upsetting. The emotions were running high the whole episode for everyone. I hope they can all pull together again and get some long overdue vengeance.

That preview for next week's episode didn't show nearly enough.

Good to get the reveal out of the way.

Hopefully the ass kicking gets ramped up now.

Those 'shrooms must have been strong - Tig was out of his mind

Glad they finally did the reveal. Ron Perlman did a nice job in that scene, Clay looked just heartbroken.

I agree with everyone else that the asskicking needs to commence STAT.

Althought I thought the reveal was incredible I was kind of disapointed that the whole Nomad build up went no where. Other than the reveal and the Irish guy getting arrested, absolutely nothing changed. It could have been a 10 minute episode.

So, did Piney kill himself or what? I can't imagine what Opie is going to do if he loses someone else.

He was just tripping balls. I think he thought he killed that statue. Maybe he was hallucinating that the statue was Donna...who knows.

I think he was hallucinating the statue was Donna. The contrast between the mud and the statue was nicely done.

I took it that he either was talking to Donna or Opie while tripping.

Kurt Sutter's latest Twitter post:

"To all you fucking whining about the commercials last night-90 minute ep is a seven act structure. More act breaks, more ads. It ain't hbo."

They extended it to "90 minutes" in large part by more than doubled the amount of commercials in a normal 60 minute show.

Re: Sons of Anarchy -- "Balm" -- 11/10/09

Like many others, I liked the ending, but I was hoping for a little more movement on the story line, especially with a 90min episode.

I'm really glad they backed out of the whole nomad thing (or at least seemed to). I'm also surprised noone in the club pushed Jax about it harder (either in the meeting or before it). Sure it was his decision but people seemed to just defer to it (except maybe Piney?).

Not sure if I missed it, but was Darby confirmed to be in the fire and do the police know yet? And are we still in the wind as to the fate of 2 finger guy?

I think the other members were okay with Jax going Nomad mostly because everybody is at the end of their ropes with this Jax versus Clay stuff.

I dont think that was it at all, but more of resigning themselves to the fact that Jax wanted to go, and who were they to keep him around if his mind was already made up.
