Anyone have any idea? This one has (supposedly) been in the pipeline since somewhere around 2007 with no further info/updates. Rumor is that Dragon Dynasty is done for, so will we EVER get this one? :(

Apparently it's still coming out. I got an email recently (2 days ago) that The Killer is "coming soon!". Fingers crossed.

I doubt it. Dragon Dynasty hasn't updated their site in ages and with Bey Logan out of the picture I am sure that the label will fold soon. Not to mention that the Weinstein's have no money.

They never update their website this time of year anyways because they don't do fourth quarter releases. I'm optimistic The Killer will still come out soon, perhaps on the Weinstein Co. label instead of Dragon Dynasty..

Who'd you get the e-mail from, Dragon Lee?

Not Bey logan but "Staff".

Is it realistic that a DVD company could actually remaster the audio on The Killer in which the audio is not messed up? Because I hear that the audio was originally poor, so it wouldn't really be restoring it.

I have 3 different DVD versions and all the 5.1 mixes sound like shit. The best option would be to simply include the original mono and just tweek it a bit to get rid of any hissing or distortions.

So, do you think that they can realistically remaster a mono audio to make it sound perfect?

Has any DVD ever had DD 1.1? Just a mono audio plus a subwoofer. It would be such a shame to watch THE KILLER without subwoofer action.

The DVD of the original Battlestar Galactica movie has a Dolby Digital Mono 1.1 track.

They could do what they did with the last release of SCARFACE on dvd.
Do a whole mix and bullet sound effects.

Let's not be hoping for unrealistic things like that, DD isn't Universal.

Realistically, no. If it were up to me, I'd do the whole Scarface thing: remix, re-arrange, re-record every foley effect. Maybe replace some of the Red Heat music cues with new ones. John Woo should do "The Killer Redux". That'd be sweet.
