Personally this is a great sale, bought 6 family guy, and 4 futurama for $92.89 with free pime ship, not too shabby. I might be the only person on the whole planet that doesnt own these yet-

If I didn't think a cool boxset would come out eventually for American Dad like the Family Guy Stewie Head I'd be all over those American Dad sets. I learned my mistake with Futurama!

Here are some dumb questions since I'm already on DVD Talk and too lazy to look it up on Google...

Why are there still only 6 seasons of King of the Hill? I bought them all at Best Buy for $10.99 each back in May 07, and I don't remember hearing that it got cancelled. How many seasons were made? Yeah, I should know, but I never got beyond watching the first season (due to time). I guess I'm just surprised over 2 years later there aren't any more KotH seasons and there haven't been any better deals.

Around 10 seasons. It just finished on Fox a few months back in fact. All I've heard is that due to not selling so well on DVD they have suspended/delayed (cancelled?!?) further releases. The hint came when they dropped special features after the first 2.

Edit: 13 seasons (IMDB)

Eh, AD isn't as popular as those shows, so I don't think that will be the case. I'm sure they'll probably release multiple AD seasons in one big set in the future, but it probably won't be as flashy as the Stewie and Bender head sets.

Thanks for the info and saving me going to IMDB. :-) So King of the Hill was popular enough to last 13 seasons on TV, but not popular enough to release more than the first 6 seasons? I guess only a small percentage of TV series watchers want to be buyers, even at prices under $13.

It looks like we may never get King of the Hill S7-S13, just as we'll probably never get Welcome Back Kotter S2-S3. I remember some people saying "buy WBK season 1 to help the sales so they'll release seasons 2 & 3." Well, I guess I must've been the only fool who bought it when it was released.

You'd think for these "unpopular series" with insufficient sales that they could make smaller production runs, like Disney does on some of its Treasures, not include a lot of extras (like on Family Ties seasons), and still make money while making some people happy to complete their series on DVD. Guess not.
