Wow. Finally, newly released DVDs at the price that should be. But I'll still probably wait till I get them for $5.00 or less.

The walmart website displays the cover art for the 2-disc Star Trek XI so I assumed this was the 2-disc edition. What makes you think it's not?

On further inspection it looks like they used the wrong cover art for the single disc Star Trek XI and the 2-disc version is selling for ~$21. Oh well...

What is the difference between 1 disc trek and 2 disc trek? Is it just the digital copy?

Barnes and Noble lists 2-disc features as: "Commentary by JJ Abrams, Bryan Burk, Alex Kurtzman, Damon Lindelof and Roberto Orci; Spock Birth; A New Vision; To Boldly Go; Klingons Take Over Narada; Gag Reel; Casting; Young Kirk, Johnny and Uncle Frank; Amanda and Sarek Argue After Spock Fights; Prison Interrogation and Breakout; Sarek Gets Amanda; Dorm Room and Kobayashi Maru (original version); Kirk Apologizes to the Green Girl; Sarek Sees Spock; Aliens; Score"

My guess is California might have some specific laws against selling something at such a reduced rate (kind of like an anti-dumping law).....
Or maybe Walmart just hates California and all its residents... ;)

Yeah, but their Free Super Saver Shipping is still at the $25 minimum.
I preordered my copies through Wal-Mart's PayPal system. $21.53 (includes tax) for two new movies on DVD is a ridiculously good bargain, and they're already paid for.

Wal-Mart is known as a "family" store. That's why all their $10 preorders aren't above the PG-13 rating -- like Star Trek and Julie & Julia.

I just ordered Star Trek and Terminator for $9.99 each total $21.72 (inc. tax) and I'm from California. Thanks for the info!

anyone know if Target, Amazon, Walmart will ship out the DVDs seperate when doing the free shipping option? Or will they more than likely wait until the last DVD comes out and ship them all together? It looks like i can order one at a time on Target and do it that way if I have to. Just curious.

Your best bet is to submit separate orders for each item to assure individual shipping. Of course, this would be the best strategy for Wal-Mart and Target only since it would invalidate Amazon free shipping.
Amazon does occasionally break up orders that are spaced out. But I haven;t been able to fins a pattern as to when they do it.

I think my order will ship out separately. I ordered ST and HP6 in one order, but who knows what Wal-Mart will do.

I pre-ordered "Under the Dome" ($9.00) last month along with a few other things to pad out my order to hit the free shipping mark. They've already shipped the in-stock items.
But other times, I've done this -- pre-ordered a book six months before its ship date -- and one in-stock book, and they wouldn't ship the in-stock book until the pre-order shipped. Ironically, they shipped them in separate boxes anyway.

WI has some stupid fair market value law. Just like last year, the Wal-Mart computer deal was $100 more. :(
What I don't get is how Best Buy gets away with it. Having $3.99 dvds etc.

Wisconsin (and I guess other states) has a minimum markup law.. so places are not allowed to sell merchandise below cost except matching competitors prices, expiring food products, clearance, and liquidation sales.
Here is an interesting article (http://www.jsonline.com/business/29284659.html)..
Basically they don't go looking for violators, just investigate complaints. They don't get many, but most complaints come during the holiday season from other competitors.
