Which movie is this?

I am trying to remember which movie this scene is from: A surfer-hippie type dude comes across a psychic woman who has foreboding visions about events about to befall him. She then gives him a coin on a chain, which he uses as a slug to make a call in a payphone, and she tells him he will "catch the wave that never ends", which ends up being that he goes over a waterfall on a surf board.


Anyone recognize this? I would have seen it late 80's or early 90's. I am sure it's not The Matrix, or Gone with the Wind. :)
