I read Tyler Foster's DVD review of The Sexy Box at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=40370 and...
Tyler Foster's recent review of my film CREATING KARMA with its obvious nod to the hippies sixties farces of Peter sellers and the New York City angst of Mel Brooks and Woody Allen was seriously and inappropriately compared to the early amateur works of Troma in this review which Foster compares it to when its obvious these films bordered on soft porn as well and knowing the Troma works of that time (and all time) are often performed endearlingly but amateurishly by many who are non actors in his stable.
My film which features and stars veteran broadway and film actors with a real script and story was reviewed by Foster with a complete disregard for the story line bordering on the homophobic (Karma's father who turns gay leaves Karma with an issue accepting his partner) which Foster insisted on referring to as his "bandmate" rather than his partner or lover, as well his complete confusion over Borscht belt jewish humor in a comedy with the films of Mel Brooks out there down to the comedies of Ben Stiller etc. today is mind boggling and that the only films he can RELATE my film to are early Troma films is just a continuing indication of this reviewers complete ignorance in regard to comedy film, stating he sat through nine hours (my film is a very quick watch at 90 minutes) one has to wonder what other things he does in nine hours...we are the winner of two comedy feature film festivals including the only woman's comedy film festival in the world, spent two years on the fest circuit as an official selection of a number of festivals one run by an esteemed film acting family...my guess is the only thing keeping Tyler's eyes glued to a screen are some flashing teenage boobs from time to time if he can't deal with Groucho glasses worn by a character in a feature farce where the world of the characters is different yet familiar...I suggest you go back and watch Peter Brooks and all the works of Allen, Sellers, Marx Bros. and the dozens of other borscht belt comics including jerry lewis before you bother continuing on your web war against my film Mr. Foster. You are continuing to spew ignorance if you think Troma in the 80s invented putting on funny glasses for a celluloid comedy shtick. For those interested read the LA Splash rave review which is an accurate portrayal and understanding of the film and farce and we are opening theatrically on the east coast Nov 13-19 at the arthouse Bethel Cinema. Furthermore, it's pathetic this reviewer feels he needs to knock an indie film made without the studio system at a scary investment and cost in finances and years by one person, me...obviously he feels something about my film is important enough to now be putting me in reviews comparing my film to a troma collection...how silly, inappropriate and uneducated. Funny glasses were there when Groucho was on the screen Mr. Foster if I have to tell you what glasses those were as I pick up after two reviews you didn't even get THAT connection.
