I remember once, when I worked in a store that sold CDs, DVDs, etc., a co-worker of mine was standing at the cash register.
A young man walks up to her and says, "Yo. Where's the rap section?"
She points to the right and says, "Right over there, under 'The Game' poster." (we had various posters in each section, sometimes relating to the section content... sometimes not.)

The guy looks at her and says, "I am The Game." and walks away.

Turns out, it was him. He was in town because he had a concert or something, and decided to go into a bunch of record stores and see how his CDs looked in the section.

Nice.

I love Game's CD's so far, so I'm looking forward to this one.

He's the only one coming hard from the West these days.

Game pushes back album for Dre

Game’s upcoming album, the R.E.D. Album, has been delayed. The album, which was to be released in December 8, will now be released on 2/16/2010. The reason for the delay is Dr. Dre, who recently got involved in the project. Even though the album has been promoted since early October, Game doesn’t seem to mind.

“Last night at the “AFTERMATH HEADQUARTERS” was Classic ! Me, Stat Quo & Dre got it in all night. R.E.D. album’s new release is 2/16/10. Album is officialy pushed back, says Interscope so that I can finish wit Dre without having to rush him, myself or the album. Think R.E.D,” Game said on his Twitter account.

Game talks R.E.D. album

In a interview with DJ Green Lantern over the telephone, Game talked briefly about his upcoming R.E.D. album.

“R.E.D., I’m just painting the whole world red” Game said. He explained the core of the album being a ‘re-dedication’ to his fans, family, kids, block and hood. He also stated the album will be his ‘most hood and street’ album since the Documentary. He also talked about his relationship with Dr. Dre:

“I’m back with Dre everyday, going hard in the studio doing the little stuff. Working on Detox with him and he’s working on the R.E.D. album,”

He feels glad having a new connection with Aftermath/Interscope, since his previous 2 albums were released on Geffen/Interscope.

“I learned well, my time at Aftermath was spent well, so getting back in, that old feeling came back. The chemistry is crazy, I got a lot of love for that dude and that’s why I never disrespected him or really went at Aftermath. I only did what I had to do to survive man, but I got love for dude and we back in grindin’ man.”

Game Speaks Dr. Dre, Detox & R.E.D.

A glimmer of hope is on the horizon for fans still waiting for Dr. Dre’s mythical Detox album to drop. Game recently told XXLMag.com that he and Dre are hard at work on both Detox and his own album, The R.E.D. Giving insight into the production legend’s work ethic, Chuck Taylor said composing with Dre is a slow process.

“If you get in the studio with Dre you best be prepared to be there for a long time ’cause he gonna coach you word for word until he gets you to 100 percent where he wants it to be,” he said. “You gonna be in there all night working on one verse. “

“We recording every single day working on Detox and working on The R.E.D. album,” he revealed. “It just feels good for me to be back in the studio with the big homie and working on my project.”

Game also shared that Dre will make the ultimate decision on which songs that come out of the simultaneous Detox/R.E.D. recording sessions will go on which project. According to Game, Doc’s track record speaks for itself like his previous releases, The Chronic and The Chronic 2001.

“Man, I can’t even describe [2001]… I would just say it’s a classic West Coast album but it was world-renowned and it had an international appeal, like who from where didn’t f*ck with that album?,” Game asked in an interview. “With 2001 he just went back to do what he do best man and that’s just trying to create the sun, moon, stars and Earth in seven days, man. The thing that stands out to me about 2001 is the same thing that stood out to me about Chronic — Dre is a perfectionist and no matter when he coughs up an album, B, they be exactly what you need. I know it seem like he be taking forever with these albums but if you think about the time that passed between the Chronic and 2001, I think Detox is just about due. So it’s not about him just making us wait, it’s his format.” (XXL Mag)
